Belgian tourists injured in Romania bus crash

BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) -- Authorities say a bus carrying 26 Belgian tourists skidded off a road in Romania's Transylvania region injuring three of them seriously, including one in a coma.

Police spokesman Liviu Naghi said the Romanian driver lost control Sunday and the bus veered off the road, careering into a ditch. Belgium's foreign ministry said all 26 tourists were injured, with one person transported to a regional hospital in a coma and two others hospitalized with serious injuries.

Naghi told The Associated Press the group had left their hotel in the resort of Poiana Brasov in central Romania and the accident occurred en route to the town of Rasnov, the site of a 14th-century fortress. Cold Mountain starring Nicole Kidman was shot in the town in 2002.
