At least 38 people killed by dengue fever in India

India's health minister said Thursday that the death toll from an outbreak of dengue fever had risen to 38 as hospitals struggle to cope with an influx of patients.
More than 2,000 dengue cases have been reported across India in the past six weeks, and some 38 people have died, including 15 in New Delhi, the capital, said Health Minister Anubani Ramadoss.
Relatives of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh may be among those hit, with two of his grandsons and a son-in-law hospitalized in New Delhi with high fever, a dengue symptom, the Press Trust of India news agency said.
