Younis Khan refuses to captain Pakistan in Champions Trophy

Younis Khan on Thursday refused to lead Pakistan in the Champions Trophy, two days ahead of the squad's departure to India for the limited-overs cricket tournament.
"I told PCB that I am refusing captaincy because I do not want to be a dummy captain," Khan told a news conference at the Pakistan Cricket Board headquarters in the eastern city of Lahore.
"I will give reasons later," Khan said before exiting the news briefing and asking reporters not to ask him any questions.
Khan was selected as Pakistan captain after regular skipper Inzamam-ul Haq was banned for four limited-overs internationals on charges of bringing the game into disrepute during a test against England at The Oval in August.
A PCB official confirmed that Khan, the regular vice captain, had declined to lead his side in the Oct. 15-Nov. 5 Champions Trophy.
"This is a fact," Saleem Altaf, PCB director of cricket operations told The Associated Press of Khan's stance.
