Iran beats Iraq 2-0 to open LG Cup

Shase Rezae scored in the 23rd minute and Iran beat Iraq 2-0 on Wednesday to open the three-team LG Cup.
Rezae scored from eight meters and Mehdi Rajab Zadea added a long-range effort in the 70th before a crowd of 3,000 _ some waving the Iraqi and Iranian flags _ at King Abdullah Stadium.
The game marked the beginning of the 10th annual friendly tournament, held in the Middle East and Africa every year since 1997.
Jordan takes on Iran on Friday as part of this year's matches, dubbed the "peace" tournament.
