A banquet of music in the moonlight

A banquet of music in the moonlight

On the two-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the full moon promises to be bathed in white splendor. In the hustle and bustle of Kaohsiung County at Lovers' Harbor the seaside wind blows steadily and the starry night is visible high in the sky. In that atmosphere, the Formosa Ensemble will be giving a rare performance October 7. The show begins at 7:00 pm and ends at 9:00 pm. The seventh of October is the second day of Mid-Autumn Festival and it happens to fall on a Saturday.
The show, called "Double Tenth Oceanic Music Concert," features string instruments and is a line-up of ancient melodies, quintessential oldies and memorable movie soundtracks. To top off the show is a fireworks array to end a relaxing night for the crowd in the Autumn coolness. Doubtless, the whole family can find this show to be a delightful experience.
All-in-all there are four parts to the show: classical music, Broadway tunes, movie soundtrack selections and Taiwanese folk songs. Most of the songs are performed by quartets with the mellow sound of cello, vocals and flute. Over twenty songs will be performed including the Beatles' "Yesterday," the Taiwanese song "Looking toward the Spring Winds."
Get ready for fire in the sky and music to the ears, for the October 7 Oceanic Starlit Concert!
