Japanese government says summits with China, South Korea, not yet decided

Japan's proposed summits with China and South Korea have not yet been arranged, despite news reports saying they could take place next week, a government spokesman said Wednesday.
Hakubun Shimomura, deputy chief cabinet secretary, said that Tokyo still wanted to hold the meetings in a single trip. Reports say Prime Minister Shinzo Abe hoped to travel to Beijing on Sunday and hold the summit in Seoul on Monday.
"We are still trying arrange the schedule and are not the stage at which we can announce officially" that the talks will take place, Shimomura said.
