CENTURION, South Africa (AP) -- Canny bowling performances from Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell kept South Africa to 128-7 after it was asked to bat first by Australia in Friday's third and final Twenty20 international at Centurion.

Starc and Maxwell took combined figures of 4-35 in eight overs to ensure that South Africa was unable to build momentum in tricky conditions.

With rain falling earlier in the day at the ground, a wet outfield limited the value batsmen received for shots while a sticky pitch provided purchase for bowlers.

Quinton de Kock's 41 was the only score of note for South Africa, who trails 1-0 in the series.
