KIEV, Ukraine (AP) -- Ukrainian football club Tavria Simferopol says it will do everything possible to play Dynamo Kiev on Sunday.
The club, which is based in Crimea but is currently in Turkey, had asked for the match to be postponed because of "circumstances that are beyond its control."
In Crimea, a tense standoff is in place between Russian forces and besieged Ukrainian military bases.
The Ukrainian league declined to comment on the matter, but Tavria says the league responded by saying it "found no basis to consider the club's request" for postponement.
Tavria says it is "doing everything possible for the match to be played according to schedule."
FC Sevastopol, the other Crimean club in the domestic league, is already in Dnipropretrovsk, where it will play FC Dnipro on Saturday.
