E-Gate and Advance Passenger Information System, APIS by National Immigration Agency both obtained an award for having an outstanding information technology application. The Secretary General of NIA Hu Jing-fu was present for the award ceremony to receive the awards on March 13.
The award is organized by the Information Service Industry Association of the Republic of China for the first time.
E-Gate and APIS are effective to screen the data in advance and track suspicious travelers for NIA, enhancing Taiwan's border security.
There are seven organizations and entrepreneurs won the awards including the EasyCard system, 7-Eleven's ibon ticketing system, a taxation information system reform project under the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Commerce Industrial Services Portal, and a digital learning website targeting small and medium-sized enterprises.
