South Africa reaches 80 from 7 overs vs Australia

DURBAN, South Africa (AP) -- Quinton de Kock and Faf du Plessis hit six sixes between them as South Africa posted 80-1 after its second Twenty20 international against Australia was reduced to seven overs per side due to rain on Wednesday.

De Kock scored 41 not out from just 20 deliveries, while Du Plessis struck an unbeaten 27 from 13 balls after South Africa lost the toss and was asked to bat at Kingsmead.

South Africa's Hashim Amla failed to get to grips with the pace of the pitch, but his dismissal brought De Kock and Du Plessis together for a 74-run stand from 31 balls.

The first game of the three-match series was washed out, and the second got underway two and a half hours after the scheduled starting time because of the weather.
