LONDON (AP) -- Italy and France props Michele Rizzo and Rabah Slimani have each received two-week suspensions for head-butting the other at the end of their Six Nations rugby match on Sunday.
Rizzo and Slimani, both replacements, agreed at their judicial hearing on Wednesday that their 70th-minute red cards were justified in France's 30-10 win.
The tournament disciplinary committee decided the foul play was at the low end of offenses and reduced their sanctions to two weeks each. However, Rizzo was banned to March 3, and Slimani to Feb. 24 because Rizzo wasn't due to play for his club this weekend, and Slimani was.
Both players will miss one Six Nations match: For Slimani, France's visit to Wales on Feb. 21, and for Rizzo, Italy's hosting of Scotland the next day.
