Uni Air launches Songshan-Pudong route

Uni Air launches Songshan-Pudong route

Taipei, Jan. 7 (CNA) Uni Air, an airline under the Evergreen Group, launched a new flight between Taipei International (Songshan) Airport and Pudong International Airport in Shanghai on Tuesday. The inaugural flight left at 9:30 a.m., but the regularly scheduled three flights a week on the route (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) will leave Taipei's city airport at 8 a.m. and arrive at Pudong Airport at 10 a.m. Return flights will leave Shanghai at 11:25 a.m. and arrive in Taipei at 1:10 p.m. Uni Air said the new route will make it more convenient for businesspeople to shuttle between the two cities. The Evergreen Group's flagship carrier EVA Air does not have any morning flights leaving for Shanghai from the conveniently located Songshan Airport. Passengers on Uni Air's morning flights can return home the same night by flying Eva Air from Hongqiao Airport back to Songshan Airport at 7:50 p.m. or from Pudong Airport to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at 8:10 p.m., the airline said. Uni Air is using an Airbus A321-200 plane on the Taipei-Shanghai route. The aircraft has eight business class seats and 176 economy class seats. Uni Air and Eva Air have increased their flights to Shanghai since last year and now have a total of 29 flights between Taiwan and Shanghai per week, the most of any airline group in Taiwan.
