35 Shows in 8 Days in a Happy New Year Hakka Style!

Showcasing the charm of Taiwan’s Hakka culture, from December 28, 2013 to January 5, 2014, the Council of Hakka Affairs presents the "2013-2014 Taiwan Hakka Product Exposition" at the TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall, For eight festive days the halls will rock with 35 scintillating performances of modern Hakka pop music, singing, opera, jazz, country music and puppetry as well as other high-quality styles of Hakka entertainment. Come and fall in love… with all things Hakka.

These Hakka arts performances are the best show going right now. From thethe opening ceremony by the internationally-renowned Ten Drum Art Percussion Group with "Clash of Thunder " followed by a carefully chosen sampling of folk songs by the Taiwan Hakka Folk Song Chorus in a wonderful pairing of contrasting styles of music and singing, there will be seven more fun-filled days of entertainment. Stop in and take in the new generation of young female jazz singer and the Sizhukong Jazz Group. There’s also Wen Jin-long on erhu, the Momo Family, the Shan Puppet Theater, the Wen Ho Legend Theater Group, the Hui-feng Dance Workshop and other organizations in a combination of traditional and innovative arts that bring an all new look to Hakka culture.

To welcome the New Year in 2014 the organizers have also arranged two special performances totaling 80 minutes on January 1 in a tribute to Teng Yu-hsien, Lu Chuan-sheng, Tu Min-heng and Wu sheng-chih, four outstanding Hakka musicians and singers and presented by Luo Shih-feng, Huang Pei-shu, Dr Liu Shao-hsi and Ho Yi-feng. These performances promise to be a memorable gala of Hakka singing and classical music, showing the depth and vibrancy of Hakka cultural and creative energy. Come to the TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall from December 28 to January 5 for a fine feast of Hakka culture and art!
