MEXICO CITY (AP) -- Police in northern Mexico have arrested three 16-year-old boys for the stabbing death of a man during a bicycle robbery.
The three are being tried as minors.
The state prosecutors' office in northern Sonora state said Sunday in a statement the three confessed to the crime.
The office said they are being held at a youth offenders facility.
The man died in September after being stabbed while the youths tried to steal his bicycle in Hermosillo, the state capital.
Sonora had largely been spared the drug violence plaguing many other states in northern Mexico, but there has been a recent uptick in violence.
