Smith, De Villiers centuries lift SA to 337-4

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) -- South Africa captain Graeme Smith and lucky AB de Villiers hit centuries to extend the Proteas' lead to 238 runs against Pakistan on the second day of the second test on Thursday.

At tea, the Proteas were solidly placed at 337-4 with Smith unbeaten on 165 and De Villiers, dropped on zero by wicketkeeper Adnan Akmal, batting on 100 with 13 fours and a six.

Both batsmen have put on 203 runs and were especially ruthless against the new ball by adding 139 runs in the second session.

Pakistan's lone wicket came early in the day when Dale Steyn added six more to the team's overnight 128-3 before he offered no shot off lanky pacer Mohammad Irfan's delivery that knocked his exposed off stump.
