Keshi predicts 'unpredictable' WCup playoffs

ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) -- Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has predicted "tough, unpredictable" matchups for Africa's big teams in next month's World Cup playoffs, with his continental champions set to face Ethiopia, maybe the most erratic of the 10 teams playing for a place in Brazil.

Keshi says he has respect for the Ethiopians, who Nigeria last met at the African Cup in January and only just beat with two penalties in the last 10 minutes. Keshi said that game in South Africa was "quite tough and I know when we next meet it's going to be the same thing."

Ethiopia had a wild ride at the African Cup this year after qualifying for the first time in more than 30 years and now has a chance at its first ever World Cup appearance.
