MOSCOW (AP) -- Raphael Holzdeppe of Germany won the men's pole vault Monday at the world championships, beating Olympic champion Renaud Lavillenie of France on a countback.

Both Holzdeppe and Lavillenie jumped 5.89 meters, but the German won because of fewer misses.
