Thousands protest over soldier's death

Taipei, July 20 (CNA) Thousands of angry protesters took to the streets in Taipei Saturday to demand the military to reveal the truth about the suspicious death of an Army conscript earlier this month and bring the perpetrators to justice. The protesters called for the intervention of a third party in the investigation into the death of Hung Chung-chiu July 4, believed to be the result of punishing exercises he was forced to do while in the brig. After a march through the streets near the Ministry of National Defense building, the demonstrators will hold a vigil in the evening in memory of Hung near the Legislative Yuan, according to Citizen 1985, the activist group that is organizing the demonstration.
