French chamber of commerce relocates office in Taipei (update)

Taipei, May 24 (CNA) The France Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFT) moved its business center in Taipei on Friday, with the aim of providing better services, the group said. Set in central Taipei, the new 450-square-meter center provides a flexible and cost-effective office solution to both multinational companies and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) alike, the French chamber said. "As French and Taiwanese SMEs prosper, the CCIFT will continue to provide an even more comprehensive and diverse selection of services to our members," said Adriana Archambault, general manager of the French commerce chamber. "This will further enhance the cross-continental business prosperity," she said at the relocation ceremony. Olivier Richard, director of the French Office in Taipei, CCIFT Chairwoman Amy Chen and other CCIFT members attended the ceremony. "We would like to provide a bigger space and more services to our members despite the poor global economy," Chen said at the event. The relocation of the French chamber represents a milestone for the organization, she said, adding that she aims to recruit more members this year. The French chamber hosts over 30 events and workshops every year in Taiwan, including coaching sessions, business consultations and cross-enterprise networking. On June 15, the CCIFT will hold its annual dinner party, with the Cannes Film Festival as its theme. The event will be an opportunity for those interested to strengthen their network in the business community, the group said. Established in 1991, the CCIFT is a non-profit organization with a current membership of over 160 companies in Taiwan. It is a member of the Union of the French Chambers Abroad network that consists of 107 chambers in 77 countries. (By James Lee)
