Brian O'Driscoll banned for 3 weeks for stamp

Ireland center Brian O'Driscoll was suspended for three weeks for stamping on Italy flanker Simone Favaro during their Six Nations match in Rome last weekend.
O'Driscoll was sin-binned for stamping on Favaro's chest in the 30th minute of Saturday's match, which Italy won 22-15.
The 34-year-old O'Driscoll acknowledged to the Six Nations disciplinary committee that he committed an act of foul play, but claimed it didn't warrant a red card.
The committee said he should have received a red card, in what was likely his 125th and last test for Ireland.
Because it was only the second yellow card of O'Driscoll's 14-year international career, the committee took two weeks off the ban and suspended him to April 8.
With the Six Nations over, O'Driscoll will miss matches for Leinster, including a Challenge Cup quarterfinal against Wasps on April 5.
O'Driscoll is in line to make his fourth tour with the British and Irish Lions this summer, a fitting farewell for the Irish great.
