Ivory Coast mums yearn for sons to finally succeed

When Ivory Coast went 1-0 down to Egypt in its last warm-up game before the African Cup of Nations, a group of women trudged out to the driveway of a house in Abidjan to pray. They'd seen this before.
They stayed there until children emerged to tell them that the game was over and the Ivorian team _ their superstar sons _ had won 4-2. Relieved, the players' mums picked themselves up and went back inside.
Few have felt the pain of Ivory Coast's run of heart-breaking failures at the African Cup more than this team of mums, who watch the matches together.
Now that another African Cup has begun, midfielder Didier Zokora's mum Alphonsine says supporters are "just a little bit afraid. It is the same for us mothers."
