Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

The active weather pattern impacting Japan will wane early on Wednesday as the storm system of the region continues on a northeastward track through the Pacific Ocean. Only a few light showers will be possible along the eastern Honshu coast, south of Tokyo. Expect a slight cooling in temperatures for much of Japan on Wednesday.
Tokyo will see mostly cloudy by the afternoon and highs in the upper 0s Celsius, while Osaka experiences similar sky conditions with highs near 10 C.
Behind this activity, dry weather conditions persists for much of the Korean Peninsula as high pressure remains dominant. A few waves of sufficient moisture will push ashore and set the stage for a few possible light snow showers. Seoul will see chances of light snow showers and remain cold on Wednesday as daytime temperatures stay near the freezing mark under overcast skies.
Meanwhile, outside of a few small chances of light showers in southeastern China, much of the nation will experience dry and cold conditions on Wednesday. Beijing will see partly cloudy skies by the afternoon with highs in the lower 0s C, while Shanghai experiences clearer conditions and highs in the upper 0sC.
For Australia, a strong area of low pressure will move into Tropical North Queensland, kicking up rain and thunderstorms across northern Queensland through the day. A second area of low pressure along the northwestern coast of Western Australia triggers similar conditions to nearby coastal areas of the region.
