Bomb disposal team examines item in NIreland

Bomb disposal officers in Northern Ireland are examining a suspect device found under the car of a police officer in east Belfast.
Police say several homes were evacuated and a road closed Sunday as officers try to establish whether the device is a viable bomb.
No details about the device were immediately available. There were no reports of injury.
Militant dissidents have recently targeted police with occasional bombings and shootings in the British territory. In April 2011, a 26-year-old policeman was killed by a booby-trap bomb that exploded under his car in Omagh, County Tyrone.
