Consumer confidence hits 33-month low in Taiwan

Taipei, Nov. 27 (CNA) Consumer confidence in Taiwan continued to fall in November, hitting the lowest monthly level since January 2010, a university survey showed Tuesday. The Consumer Confidence Index compiled by the Research Center for Taiwan Economic Development at National Central University fell 0.61 points to 72.12 in November from 72.73 in October. It was the seventh time in the past eight months that the index was down from the previous month. The reading was also the lowest since the index hit 65.98 in January 2010. It rose to 73.16 the next month and had remained above that level until October of this year. (By James Lee)
