Brazil's largest city suffering wave of violence

Police in Brazil's largest city say the metropolitan Sao Paulo area is suffering a wave of violence that left 28 dead over four days.
Police tell the Estado de Sao Paulo newspaper that five people died and 12 were injured in shootings between Saturday night and Sunday morning. The newspaper reports on Sunday that this was the fourth night in a row with multiple murders. There were 28 people killed by Sunday morning. Calls by the Associated Press on Sunday for comments and updates were not returned.
Police tell the newspaper that some of the killings appear to be robberies turned fatal, but most of the victims died in drive-by shootings by men on motorcycles.
