78-yr-old jailed for child sex offenses

A British man has been jailed for child sex offenses dating back more than half a century.
The 78-year-old retiree, Reginald Davies, was convicted of 13 offenses against four girls, including the rape of one under the age of 12.
The crimes took place between 1949 and 1973, and police said the case appeared to involve the oldest charges ever heard in a British court.
Davies was sentenced to 11 years in prison in London on Friday. He had moved to Australia, but two of his victims confronted him and reported him to police while vacationing there in 2008.
British police say they have received many more reports of past child sex abuse since an abuse scandal surrounding late BBC children's TV host Jimmy Savile came to light.
