Maldives party slams report on ex-leader's ouster

The opposition party led by the Maldives' former president has criticized an upcoming report on his ouster, saying it is biased and incomplete.
The Maldivian Democratic Party says the report by a special commission does not include many events and comments from people about the ouster earlier this year of then President Mohamed Nasheed.
The comments by the party on Sunday come five days before the report is to be released and threaten to exacerbate the country's political tensions.
Nasheed resigned in February after weeks of public protests in which he lost the support of the military and police. He later claimed he was ousted in a coup, prompting international pressure on new President Mohammed Waheed Hassan to establish a commission to investigate the power transfer.
