Western Force signs scrumhalf Mathewson for 2013

The Western Force have signed ex-All Blacks scrumhalf Alby Mathewson as their marquee international player for the 2013 Super 15 season.
Mathewson, who played four tests for New Zealand in 2010, has spent the last three seasons at the Auckland Blues and has 83 Super rugby caps since his debut for the Wellington Hurricanes in 2007.
The Force have lost a number of senior players and the signing of Mathews is designed to restore some balance in the halves, new coach Michael Foley said.
Foley says; "As we prepare to relaunch the side, we've focused on recruiting some of the best up-and-coming talent. Having Alby join us in a key position ... will not only add to our performance next season, but also ensure we're able to develop our young talent."
