An Afghan government spokesman says a truck bomb in the south's largest city has killed two civilians and wounded the provincial police chief.
Kandahar provincial spokesman Jawed Faisal says Gen. Abdul Raziq's convoy was driving on a main road in Kandahar city late Monday when a nearby truck exploded. He says two civilians died and 16 others were wounded.
Faisal said Raziq was "slightly injured" but did not provide further details. He said the bomb appeared to have been targeting Raziq, one of the most powerful men in Kandahar.
