Typhoon Bolaven will further weaken on Tuesday before making landfall on the west of North Korea. Bolaven is expected to weaken to a Category 1 strength storm with maximum sustained winds falling to around 90 mph/78 knots by Tuesday morning. The system will begin extra-tropical transition by Tuesday afternoon. This broad system will bring significant heavy rains, damaging winds and dangerous surf conditions to the shores nearby Jiangsu, Shandong, Liaoning and Jilin in China, Kyushu and Shikoku in Japan, and the Korean Peninsula.
To the south, Typhoon Tembin is expected to make landfall with southern Taiwan at Category 1 strength with maximum sustained winds ranging between 75 and 85 mph/65 and 73 knots. In addition to strong winds, this system will bring another round of dangerous surf conditions and significant rainfall with areas of flooding and mudslides as it treks north-northwestward through the day. By Tuesday evening, Typhoon Tembin is expected to weaken to tropical storm strength due to land interaction.

In Australia, a low pressure system and associated cold front will slide through the Great Australian Bight on Tuesday, bring chances of showers to the southern coasts of South and Western Australia, and more pronounced showers to Victoria and Tasmania. Chances of precipitation are expected to spread into southern New South Wales by Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
