Australia reach 272-8 vs. Afghanistan

Matthew Wade and captain Michael Clarke put on a 131-run partnership to anchor Australia's innings of 272-8 in a one-off limited-overs cricket international against Afghanistan on Saturday.
Both posted 75 runs to lead Australia to a challenging target against a young Afghanistan team that is only playing its second ODI against a test playing nation. The historic match started in the evening to avoid the heat.
Despite giving up plenty of runs, the Afghanistan bowlers kept Australia's batsmen on edge throughout, with Karim Sadiq leading the way with figures of 2-22.
Spinner Mohammad Nabi, who returned 2-50, caught and bowled Wade to end his partnership with Clarke and then bowled out allrounder Glenn Maxwell for two runs.
Maxwell was making his international debut for Australia.
