NATO airstrike kills 12 militants in Afghanistan

The international military coalition in Afghanistan says an airstrike in the east of the country has killed 12 insurgents.
Coalition spokesman Maj. Adam Wojack says the strike took place late Friday afternoon and hit armed insurgents in Kunar province near the Pakistan border.
Kunar provincial official Aslam Gul Mujahid says the airstrike killed 20 people, including Mullah Dadullah, the self-proclaimed leader of the Pakistani Taliban in Pakistan's Bajur tribal area.
Pakistani intelligence officials say Dadullah and 19 others were killed in an airstrike, but they say it occurred in Pakistan's Bajur region, just across the border from Kunar. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.
NATO could not confirm that a senior militant had been killed.
