Super 15: Reds beat Rebels to move level into 1st

The defending champion Queensland Reds moved level on points with the ACT Brumbies in the Australian conference of Super 15 rugby on Friday after a four-try, 32-17 win over the Melbourne Rebels.
The Reds led 24-3 at halftime but let the Rebels back into the game after a pair of second-half tries before scoring a bonus-point try after a penalty. It came after a 20-phase stretch of sustained pressure that moved Queensland to within meters of the Rebels try line.
Australia and Reds flyhalf Quade Cooper, just back after a lengthy layoff due to knee surgery following last year's World Cup, played only the first half. Team officials said there was no recurrence of the injury and that he was rested because of the Reds' 21-point halftime lead.
