President Santos' popularity plummets in Colombia

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos' handling of a controversial reform of the country's justice system has helped send his approval rating plummeting to 48 percent.
Congress abandoned the proposed reform Thursday after a crisis of confidence in the government.
The reform would have reassigned criminal investigations involving officials including ministers, judges and generals and could have led to the release of scores who are currently detained while their cases were reassigned.
Congress passed it last week but, after an uproar in the media, Santos asked Congress to shelve it.
The poll of 1,200 people this week by Invamer Gallup showed Santos' approval rating dropped from 64 percent in April. Its error margin was 3 percentage points.
