Liberal, free market website in China shut down

A co-founder of a liberal think tank in Beijing says the organization's website has been closed for days, though its web administrator says it was for technical reasons.
The shutdown of unirule.org.cn comes amid a tightening of communication controls during one of China's biggest political scandals in decades.
Economist Mao Yushi said Wednesday the site for the Unirule Institute of Economics has been shut since Saturday, although he did not know why. Unirule web administrator Zhang Liang said it was down temporarily for maintenance to solve technical problems.
Unirule backs free markets. Chinese authorities last month suspended the ultra-leftist site Utopia. It had supported disgraced politician Bo Xilai and argued against privatization of the economy and other Western-style reforms.
