Protesters strip in Cambodia to demand land titles

A dozen women who stripped down to their underwear were among 100 protesters outside Cambodia's National Assembly demanding land titles they say were promised them after being evicted from their homes.
The demonstrators on Tuesday began what they said would be a week-long protest to pressure the government for the titles. They say they were residents of Phnom Penh's Boueng Kak lake area whose land was awarded by the government to a Chinese company to be redeveloped commercially.
The women said they stripped to get attention for their claim that only some residents were given the land titles, but not them.
Evictions to clear land for development are a major issue in Cambodia, with violence sometimes employed and allegations of corrupt deals.
