Harvard instructor caught with pot in Bermuda

A Bermuda judge has released a Harvard instructor who was caught with marijuana at the U.K. territory's airport.
Mey Akashah teaches environmental health at the Harvard School of Public Health. On Monday, the Boston resident admitted bringing 6 grams (0.21 ounce) of pot into Bermuda for a weekend trip but says a doctor prescribed it for medical reasons.
Prosecutors say she concealed the drugs in her underwear.
She could provide no proof that she had legally been prescribed pot for pain. She says her doctor in California had the documentation.
Magistrate Archibald Warner said he found it "strange" she could provide no proof yet discharged her from custody with no fine. He said a conviction would have an "overwhelming effect" on her.
Two Harvard spokesmen did not immediately return emails.
