Colombia: no rescue mission for missing journalist

Colombia's defense minister says his government has not launched any special rescue mission for a French journalist who was accompanying a counterdrug mission when it was attacked by leftist rebels.
A spokesman for France's foreign ministry says it holds the leftist Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia responsible for Saturday's disappearance of journalist Romeo Langlois and called for his immediate release.
Defense Minister Juan Carlos Pinzon said Monday that he could not say whether the 35-year-old Langlois has been kidnapped. He said authorities don't know his whereabouts.
Pinzon has said that troops saw Langlois wounded in the left arm and said he shed his helmet and flak jacket and headed in the direction of the rebels.
Four security force members were killed in the attack and six wounded.
