Cetkovska, Errani win in Barcelona Open 1st round

Petra Cetkovska and Sara Errani both beat unseeded opponents in the first round of the Barcelona Open on Monday.
Sixth-seeded Cetkovska shook off some late nerves to eliminate Shahar Peer of Israel 6-1, 5-7, 7-5.
The Czech player dominated in the first set and did not surrender a single break point on the outdoor clay court.
After Peer bounced back to claim the second, Cetkovska bounced back and appeared ready to finish off her opponent when 5-2 up with three match points. But Peer saved all three and leveled the score at 5-5, only to surrender a late break before finally yielding the match when she netted a return.
The seventh-seeded Errani of Italy dispatched Romania's Irina-Camelia Begu in straight sets.
Errani needed just over two hours to hold off Begu's big serve for the 7-6 (5), 6-4 win. The 21-year-old Begu hit five aces, but also four double faults in route to her early exit.
Both players traded breaks in the first set before Errani went ahead in the tiebreaker. Errani, a semifinalist here last year, then took two of Begu's service games to claim the decisive second set.
Also, Sloane Stephens of the United States fell in straight sets to Romania's Simona Halep.
Halep saved seven break points to make up for her shaky serve and oust the 19-year-old American 6-4, 6-4.
Later, defending champion Roberta Vinci of Italy plays Mathilde Johansson of France.
