Archery team selection turns controversial

The selection process for Australia's Olympic archery team has turned controversial, with the father of one hopeful accused of bullying one of her leading rivals.
An apprehended violence order was taken out two weeks ago against Jim Barnard, father of archer Elisa Barnard, on behalf of 17-year-old Odette Snazelle. He is prohibited from going within 200 meters (yards) of Snazelle.
The order will not prevent Elisa Barnard _ who won the Oceania qualifying tournament in New Zealand in January _ from competing against Snazelle at this weekend's national championships in Canberra.
The Australian Olympic Committee said Thursday it was monitoring the situation.
