Brazil striker Neymar says he feared for his safety in the Copa Libertadores match against Peruvian club Juan Aurich, comparing the game to an Ultimate Fighting Championship event.
Neymar says he was fouled hard throughout the match and that he would have ended up in a hospital if he had not avoided contact on some occasions during Thursday's match.
The 20-year-old striker says it "looked more like a UFC fight than a football match."
Santos coach Muricy Ramalho said "they would have broken his leg if he didn't jump.".
The defending Copa Libertadores champion won the match 2-0 to take the Group 1 lead. Neymar scored one of the goals.
