UN report slams Mexico disappearances

A United Nations reports says Mexico is not doing enough to investigate the growing number of people who have disappeared in recent years.
U.N. mission member Ariel Dulitzky says "it appears Mexico does not have the willingness or is unable" to investigate forced disappearances.
While no recent figures are available, a 2010 report indicated that 412 forced disappearances have occurred in Mexico, some dating back to the 1980s.
Dulitzky said Wednesday that his U.N. working group had found evidence that military personnel were involved in several disappearances.
A representative of Mexico's Attorney general's Office said the government would heed the U.N. recommendations for better investigation procedures.
