Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

A complex area of low pressure will pull a cooler air mass across northeastern China, the Korean peninsula and Japan on Tuesday, dropping temperature close to 6 degrees C from Monday to Tuesday in some areas. Parts of the Koreas will see a mix of rain and snow. As the system moves into the Sea of Japan, it will usher moisture across the western Honshu coast, triggering rain showers. Japan will remain on the warmer side of this system, allowing much of the precipitation in this region to fall in the form of rain during the day. Precipitation will become more widely scattered during the evening and into the night across northern Honshu and Hokkaido. Expect cooler temperatures to follow on Wednesday.
To the south, a trough of low pressure will bring unsettled weather to southern China during the next few days, while a humid air stream with fog and rain persists.
For Australia, a trough of low pressure will maintain rain and thunderstorms along the coasts of Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. Similar conditions will persist in the northern tier of Western Australia and the Northern Territory. High pressure will dominate the rest of the nation with dry and warm conditions.
