Turks protest journalists' detention

Hundreds of protesters have gathered in Istanbul to mark the first year in detention of two investigative journalists' in connection with an alleged conspiracy against the government.
Nedim Sener and Ahmet Sik were arrested on accusations of involvement in an alleged secularist plot to bring down Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Islamic-rooted government.
Their arrests increased concerns about press freedoms in Turkey, where dozens of journalists have been detained on terrorism charges.
Protesters marched along Istanbul's main pedestrian street on Saturday, demanding freedom for Sener and Sik.
Demonstrators then turned around and marched in the opposite direction in support of two other prominent journalists who have spent a year jailed in solitary confinement.
