A Yemeni security official says two suicide bombers have struck an army camp in a central town, killing one and wounding three soldiers.
The official says the attackers drove a truck into a Republican Guard camp in the town of Bayda, 75 miles (120 kilometers) south of the capital Sanaa early on Saturday. The town is close to an area seized by militants in January.
The official says the bombers deceived the guards with an ox they said was a present for the camp commander. Once inside, they detonated their explosives.
The official says the attack has all the hallmarks of al-Qaida. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press.
Al-Qaida and other militants have used Yemen's political turmoil to seize vast areas in the country's south.
