3 killed, 2 injured in Greenland shooting

Danish police in Greenland say three people have been killed and two seriously injured in a shooting incident involving native Inuits.
Police spokesman Claus Risbjerg says a man had been detained but the motive for the shooting was unclear.
Risbjerg said Wednesday four policemen and medical staff flew from the nearby town of Upernavik to Nutaarmiut, a hamlet in northwestern Greenland with less than 50 inhabitants.
Many of Greenland's Inuits are hunters who use firearms. The native population has experienced social problems including alcoholism, domestic violence, sexual abuse and suicide.
Nutaarmiut is 560 miles (900 kilometers) north of the Arctic Circle.
