Sri Lanka protesters demand release of 2 activists

Hundreds of protesters have marched in Sri Lanka's capital to demand freedom for two human rights activists a month after they went missing while working in a former war zone.
The two activists were organizing a media conference for their organization, Movement for People's Struggle, in the northern Jaffna district in December to mark international human rights day.
Their colleagues accuse the military of abducting them, but the military denies the allegation.
The protesters held placards and banners on Monday demanding freedom for 29-year-old Lalith Kumar Weeraraju and 34-year-old Kugan Muruganandan.
Sri Lanka's 25-year civil war ended in 2009. Both government troops and ethnic Tamil rebels have been accused of rights violations during the conflict.
