Brief rain forecasted for Election Day

Taipei, Jan. 9 (CNA) Brief showers were forecasted to fall around Taiwan on Jan. 14, the day of presidential and legislative elections, due to the influence of a rain-bearing cloud band in southern China, the Central Weather Bureau said Monday. Northern and eastern Taiwan could see brief showers while rain could fall in parts of central and southern Taiwan as well, the bureau said, reminding the public to wear rain gear or take umbrellas when they go out to vote. The bureau forecasted temperatures to range between 16 and 20 degrees Celsius in northern Taiwan, 15 and 22 degrees in central Taiwan and 16 and 24 degrees in the southern part of the country on the day of elections.
