US ski party in BC hit by avalanche; 1 killed

Police in British Columbia say a backcountry skier from the U.S. has been killed in an avalanche.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police Sgt. Troy Durand says an American ski party was caught in an avalanche in Molars Bowl, west of Golden, on Friday afternoon.
Durand says the skier, who he would not identify until next of kin are notified, was buried and then dug out by ski-party members who began CPR.
Durand says search and rescue officials arrived at the scene by helicopter and took the person to a local hospital, but the skier later died.
The death is the fourth backcountry skier fatality in British Columbia this season.
