Hundreds of Venezuelans sue over breast implants

About 400 Venezuelan women are suing companies that sold faulty French-made breast implants demanding that the firms cover their medical expenses.
One of their lawyers, Emilia De Leon, says the group is seeking a court order to cover medical expenses including surgeries to replace the defective breast implants.
De Leon says companies that sold the implants in Venezuela should be held responsible for the costs of replacing them.
The implants were manufactured with non-medical grade silicone by the now-defunct French company Poly Implant Prothese, or PIP. In some cases, women have had them removed after they ruptured.
